Sitting here in my stats review right now. I think I'm hoping to learn through osmosis. I'm writing a paper for my class at five because I was a irresponsible person last night because I ate cake and socialized for Liz's birthday instead of writing my papers. What? Joni you had all weekend. Yes, yes, I know. The weekends don't belong to me anymore though. They belong to sleep, Tahitian dancing, family stuff, and Grey's Anatomy.
Good thing this paper is just a reflection paper meaning I right down a bunch of touchy feely crap that makes me think and I'm good. As for the stats test...well, it's open all week and I have the class notes to study. I guess that brings up the question of why am I here? Just sitting in a room, in the midst of a review for one of the subjects I hate most when I could be sitting outside this very room and learn the same amount of Stats that I'm learning while sitting here? Guilt. Lightbulb, I will never be the same.

oh today.
Ally and I decided that a trip to the mountains was much needed. So we drove and listened to lovely music until we decided we were high enough from civilization to find tranquility. We played in the snow for a while, and by played I mean we walked around then Ally climbed a tree. I'm still feeling rather ill or else I would've been up there with her. Needing to be back by three to go to classes, we took off but we couldn't find the bee museum and I repeat, I was feeling ill. So, instead of classes we drove around collecting numbers on houses for rent. Unexpectedly, something wonderful went by, again and again for a third time. Then we got pizza and looked around at houses on the east side of Provo. These houses weren't for rent but we mused what house we would want to live in anyways. There are some winners up there on the East side, mostly ones built in the 70's by the looks of them. Great. Feeling drowsy, we came home and watched Grey's Anatomy. Good thing this day was so productive. Really though, it was. Just not in the normal way. Alac, now I am doing normal homework on our normal couch while listening to normal great pandora stations. Or...I will be once I post this.

Once upon a time my roommates and I wrote a creepy poem for a man that was moving out of our ward across the country:
Silver Fox you brighten my day,
I wish in Utah you would stay
so you could sing me lullabies
that fill my heart with butterflies.
You are ten years older than me,
but time is nothing baby, don't you see.
I'll think of you oft while you are gone,
writing letters til' the break of dawn,
If you knock upon my door,
I'll love you forever more.
Oh wait, I already do...
love you, love you
Treehouse Two
great huh? haha

One thing I absolutely love about Hinduism is freaking meditation. I'm taking a World Religion class that offers me great joy. The world is crammed with people trying to make every second of their day productive or else they feel inadequate or lazy. Hinduism encourages that meditation and taking time to watch the world pass helps increase knowledge. This is a valid concept to observe from the Hindi religion. This device of learning through from all types of religions and flavors of people is what I love most about the class. All the stereotypes in Provo and the LDS culture are completely and entirely gone. My professor, DaveG :), is the kind of teacher that puts the learning of his students over the completion of the lesson plan. He encourages us to ask questions and will go into a passionate teaching phase where he thinks out loud. Field experience is what makes this man a scholar. I feel like he's the Mad-Eye Moody of BYU haha. As Fred and George said, "Man, he knows. He knows what it's like to be out there doing it."
p.s. after playing soccer tonight I have realized that so much of who I am and how I perform is mind power. I'd get frustrated and think I can't do it I haven't played in four years, and I quickly suck. The next game I'd give myself a pep talk and get aggressive and I'd be fine. I realized that I do that ALL the time. I need to get better at telling myself I can do things. okay, ba-byee.

hello satisfaction. this weekend has been so lovely. Fridays Ally and I went to Rock Canyon park to go sledding. We got there and then realized we were dumb because it was midnight and here we were two girls by themselves. So we called up friends next door. What a great time we had then we went hot tubbing at U-villa. We got home at like four and I was so proud. That's about the latest I've stayed out this past school year, sad, because I've been being somewhat responsible this year.
Saturday morning my cousins picked me up at eight a.m. to go visit my grandparents in Richfield. I slept the whole way. The day was spent chatting, playing with their adorable baby, and eating delicious food. Saturday night Jadyn and I went to the ward party where we dancing to sweet music with the boom box boys. Then Sean got down on the car, it was specular and completely surprising. We bought an ice cream cake for Amber that we had emblazoned with the phrase, "Happy Birthday Douchbag". Then Jadyn and I had a dance party on the bed to A*Teens. The night concluded with watching Scott Pilgrim vs. the World where everyone fell asleep except Liz and I.
Sunday night there were good times with the neighbors during the designated tea time/philosophical questions. I love hearing delving deep into the beliefs of friends. A kind of learning happens that is particular to the experience. The evening concluded with an awful episode of X-files. Really, it was awful. So disappointing.
Now as I blog I am at watching Star Wars episode IV with the boys. I love weekends!

I've been missing my sister so much lately. She just has four and a half months left! Some moments of Keely.
-Four-wheeling down dirt roads and past farms at Grandma's house belting Dixie Chicks. We could never remember the beginning to Cowboy Take Me Away and we'd always argue about the lyrics. p.s. I was right on the lyrics, we looked them up.
-Snowmobiling at Fish Lake with her screaming her head off behind me when I drive. Really, I don't go that fast.
-Sleepovers, talking late in the night when she came home from college.
-Playing Barbie's with me, then getting bored and making me angry when she started being slightly mocking in her play. She was never a doll person and I was. Which is odd because now dolls mortally freak me out.
-Girls camp with Mom when we were like eight and ten and hearing about "super laurels". Random memory.
-Montana with Dad and Mom, sitting on the dock watching the sunset after the hours and hours of sitting in the car. And oh my gosh, Custard's Last Stand. Biggest waste of a drive evah.
-Talking with her about school, life and how dumb people my age were. I put the blame on her for making me not like people my age and always having people older than me as friends.
-NSYNC*
-haha listening through the doorway of her and Katie talking about the movie It because they thought it'd scare me. Little did they know.
-Watching Anastasia at the theater with her and Jeanette. That's the first movie I remember seeing in the theaters. We were late and on the front row.
-Las Vegas with the Judds. Just me and her on the plane. Making movies with the trolls, newscasts and "Coga", much cooler than Yoga. What was with us and wheelchairs that trip?
-haha Keely falling off the top of the bunk bed on top of the record player and not waking up.
-Her night terrors she has when she screams my name and I can't wake her up. Some of the most terrifying moments of my life.
-The Barbie card dream she had with the guy from Rigoletto.
-Prank wars. Me and Hedi vs. Keely and Courtney.
-Selling lemonade. That one time where I got a dollar from the UPS guy just for being so cute. Everyone wanted to divide that dollar but Keely thought I should keep it because he gave it to me specifically. She's got my back.
-That snowboarder she made for me out of clay. It just let me know that she knew I was my own person and supported it. I bet she never even though of it that way.
-She gave me the shoe painting idea. She thought I'd be super good at it. The first pair was for her.
-Interpretive dancing on the tramp. Yes, we made up our own music. Add on, fish out of water, etc..
-Clue. That one summer we played hours and hours. I would win about one out of five games.
-Egyptian Rat Screw. It's because of her I've got a slide that can beat everyone else to the sandwiches. Sibling competition.
-California speed. Still can't beat her.
-The awful hand-me-down jeans I got from her. Man, she just didn't have very good style in sixth grade:) I remember hiding a pair of them under my bed in a box for about a year. Another time a purposely ripped a whole in them from my bike. Whoops.
-Sleeping in the wagon at Challis and hiding from all the nasty moths. Gross.
I always think of her when I have a hard day. She's probably been the most encouraging person in my life. She's always telling people how I'm not afraid to be myself and what a cool person I am haha. I think it's an older sister bias. She wrote something in my birthday letter that I will always remember. Context behind the comment, we went swimming with our neighbors. I was too little to know how to swim. Keely jumped on the floaty I was on and it bounced me off. She immediately jumped in and tried to save me but she was only probably six years old herself. Needless to say, we both started drowning. She says, "I'll never forget the feeling of sinking and just trying to keep you above the water." I feel like she has done that her whole life, just tried to keep me above the water. That's what I love about family, they'll always be there. Oh man, I miss her. I miss her calling me Pocahontas or Bert or Basket haha. Goodnight.

It's sad that the only two posts I've posted so far this year are about this, oh well. I'm over it. I saw my professor again. He actually ended up not being my professor because I was trying to add the class as were a bunch of graduating seniors and they get preference because it's a GE. Annnywayss, so Ally and I went to the creamery for pickles and oreos...late night snack craving. I know. It was half and hour before it closed and guess who walked in? Well you already know because I told you before, but I'll tell you again, it was my professor. He pulled up in a range rover and was wearing a puffy vest and cargo pants. He's so beautifully outdoorsy and remarkably smart. I'm just happy I got to see him one last time because I know this, whatever this is, is super creepy. And now I'm not going to think of it evah again.
okay goodnight.
okay goodnight.
