Recount of the anniversary weekend: (if i can remember)
Friday we didn't hang out together. I went to a rodeo with my brother and sister. My first rodeo. It was intense, I must admit I loved it. I also loved that Kevin brought along his scooters to ride around on. When I say scooters I mean razor scooters of course. Actually, on second thought, I think this was Thursday we went. I don't remember what I did Friday haha.
Then on Saturday day I don't remember what Ally and I did...so it must not be of great consequence. Saturday night though we went to this girl's birthday part in my old ward. It was rockin'. Ally, Bart, Ryan and I were dancing like madmen on the wall and around the fire, with glowsticks to boot. The boys in our ward got a stripper cake off of craiglist for free, so this boy dressed up...down??...in some stewie boxers and a bowtie. It was hilarious. They also shot off a few illegal fireworks making me extremely excited for the fourth of July. But the best part was when the boys were congratulating us on our two year anniversary. Now, people who actually know us know that this is strictly in a best friend type way anniversary. But there was an unfortunate soul who was in this group that didn't know us. She started asking us how we met and then said, "oh, so it was love at first sight." it was that moment that Ally and I thought over the conversation and were like ooohhhh, she thinks we're lesbians. Right. Luckily after that she awkwardly walked away leaving us with a great story.
After the party we went to Smiths to stock up on the goods that we always ate as freshmen. There is a surprising amount we consumed and none of it very healthy. So when we got home we set to making it. I made our nasty good popcorn and Ally made the Guac. By then it was like one in the morning so we were right on schedule and ready for....HERO's! So around four a.m. we decided to stop. But you know we were reliving our freshman year so we started talking and saying goodnight but then kept talking. Somehow we got on the subject of the band TLC, which I didn't remember. So of course we had to play a couple of their songs. Which started us into a nineties dance party at five thirty a.m. Around that time we started settling down and dropped off around six a.m. Just like freshman year.
So ended our anniversary weekend.

Monday Keely's friend Shea dropped off his dog for me to babysit while he took her out to lunch. I was so excited that I started off towards the park without any thought of grabbing shoes. This resulted in a sad mess a couple hours later when the jeep died at an intersection, with a dog in the backseat and me with no shoes. After waiting forty-five minutes or so for my brother to show up with his new truck to tow me, it started up no problem. It would. Speaking of my brother, that night we had a going away party for Kevin. He's moving to Texas to work for Lockheed Martin. Four out of the five siblings were there that night. It was a great family reunion. Oh and I roasted a kid going to MIT at Egyptian Rat Screw, take that smarty pants. Also, we went swimming and it was the most beautiful night. It's finally starting to feel like summer.
Tuesday was my cousin Rachel's wedding. We ate coldstone, planned for the fourth of July in Richfield, then put army men on their jeep and a toilet seat on the steering wheel. I love my family.

There are raccoons living outside my apartment:( i'm never going out the back way again. Last night Ally and I were leaving and we see this dark shape darting past just on our left. Ally yells out, "kitty!" and reaches down to pet it just as the street light reveals it to be a raccoon! Panic ensues on both sides. I don't know which was more freaked out: us, yelling, bolting one way or the raccoon fleeing for it's life the opposite way.
It is a two year anniversary, so we're celebrating. Ally and I met two years ago this weekend! and Joe in a couple of days. It's crazy it's been TWO years, but at the same time I feel like I've known her forevah.

This is what i wrote about her at the end of my freshman year:
"This girl. Man. I seriously don't know what I'd do without her. Die maybe? Heavenly Father blesses me over and over with this girl. So many times we have had these good conversations slash venting moments slash just plain thoughts on our minds when we both realize that we are dealing with the exact same thing! several several times. It's great to have those tender moments where I learn to rely and trust in someone. She helps me keep my inner child alive, something that is one of the most important things to me in the world. oh the days of staying out on campus til the wee small hours of the morning. oh the days of mad dance parties in public or on the doors at home...yeah, you wish you were there. oh the nasty days of laying in our beds watching hour after hour of gilmore girls or lost or heroes eating nothing but pickles, ramen, and our nasty good popcorn. hahaha oh the pranks we have played-mostly on Joe. Oh the days of swimming at 7-peaks. Oh the days of owing me money and paying me back food-wise at the cannon. Oh the days of crab and avocado sandwiches. Oh the days of having either guitar or business classes together and talking the entire time through it because we hadn't seen each other for two days. Oh those days of painting out on the lawn..okay so we only did this once. Luckily these many different types of days are still to come! Yessshh for living togethers next year."

That was at the end of freshman year. We've had a whole nother year and some of crazy memories. I've never been this close to someone, she is my best friend. haha it's like Anne of Green Gables classifies, we are "kindred spirits". All I can say is that our husbands better be cool with us living next to each other.

Lead, kindly Light, amid th’encircling gloom, lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home; lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.

I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose and see my path; but now lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will. Remember not past years!

So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still will lead me on.
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till the night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile, which I
Have loved long since, and lost awhile!

Meantime, along the narrow rugged path, Thyself hast trod,
Lead, Savior, lead me home in childlike faith, home to my God.
To rest forever after earthly strife
In the calm light of everlasting life.

Prepare yourself for a monstrously long post celebrating two hundred posts and a thousand page views.
This weekend was lovely and interesting. It was Keely's birthday Saturday but we celebrated both hers and Moms because Moms was earlier in the week and only my parents and Keely were home. It was the perfect summer birthday celebration. We ate outside under the trees. Steak, baked potatoes and chocolate lush. Wow, I'm hungry right now haha.
Also I made a purse. Saturday night I stayed up until three thirty working on it. But it was okay because my family is cute and will stay up pretty late to support me and keep me company. Plus, we were watching Return of the King. I only had a little bit left of the trim and I decided that I could finish it in the morning but when I woke up it was magically finished! I love my Mom. Earlier that day my Mom had followed me around the fabric store as I picked out a whole different purse at the fabric store then came home and decided that wasn't really what the assignment was looking for. She then drove me to Home Depot, where the assignment said I should go, and helped me figure out the final purse. She unbelievably patient and loving. I hope to be as wonderful a Mom as she is someday.
Sunday morning I slept in until noon. Single ward was at one, fast Sunday. All day I felt so grateful for what the Lord has blessed me with. Then we came home to food at the table, always nice on fast Sunday. I started my 3d pattern assignment. I worked on it and worked on it. Then took a break to play with the neighbors German Shepard. She still kinda in puppy mode and is crazy. We played with the hose for like half an hour. It was hilarious. I would spin the stream of water around and she'd chase it like crazy. I was nice of course and let her frequently catch it wherein she'd frantically bite the water. Extremely entertaining. Then I went back inside and worked on the pattern assignment some more. My Dad was gracious enough to cut forty five degree angles into my wood as for my life I cannot cut a forty-five degree angle. My Dad and Keely stayed up me with me again pretty late keeping me company. I stayed up until four then slept for two hours at which my Mom woke me up so I could arrive back home in time for class. I was actually awake and in a really good mood. Amazing what naps can do:) for breakfast my Mom made me scrambled eggs and toast from homemade bread. I'm giving all these details because I never realized how good I had it at home until I moved away and had to make my own breakfast. The drive back to school was so peaceful. I had made a play list for summer earlier that week which ended up being perfect for a drive along legacy highway alongside a summer sunrise. Perfect.
Arriving back to school, sadly my final broke along the way. Honestly, even after all those hours and no sleep I didn't really care. It didn't turn out like I wanted and I knew I'd have to redo it anyways. I was in such a good mood, nothing could touch me. Or maybe is was a sleepless stupor, either way I was happy. It was great too. Another girl had to re-glue some of her project too before class. I ended up talking to her about graphic design. She's in that program and is just retaking some of the classes she got a bad grade in from when she did industrial design. i told her that I was pretty sure I wanted to do graphic design instead. She was wealth of knowledge. She gave me names and tips for the program. Since I took these ID classes i shouldn't have to take some of, if not all, of the pre-rec courses before applying. I am now meeting with the department head on Thursday to discuss my portfolio and options. If I'm lucky he might let me start the program in fall without even having to apply. That would be unbelievably amazing. The girl is even going to look over my portfolio with me before I show it to him so that I can present my best possible front. Pray it all works out! The Lord has given me so many blessings. Even when i don't deserve them. Speaking of things I don't deserve, my best friend Ally. She was so great last night to bring me food to the Snell building when I texted her I was dying haha. She then stayed until midnight and did chalking drawings while I finished up homework. Grrreat friend.
Today in class we showed our purses. I end up voted second place. yeah baby. That's right. it was so fun to look at all the purses all the guys made. They didn't do a bad job either. When they got up to present they all tried on their purse. So funny. Though my favorite was when the guy that made his out of washers of some kind put his on his head saying that is was a great defense mechanism in case you ran into a battle. I almost peed my pants laughing. Made my day. As did watching all the guys proudly wear their purses around campus as we took them to my professors office. They loved it.
Welp, tonight is going to be another long night. Actually all of them will be until Thursday. But then it will be bliss so it's worth it. Proud of you and slightly pitying if you made it through this mammoth post.
Ally got me obsessed with this song.

Also, Ally and I are putting together a package of love and fun for Yoseph. it's going to be the bast package a missionary has ever seen.

so...didn't go to Iron and Wine/ the Head and the Heart tonight. Everytime I see a comment on face book about how wonderful I feel like I got punched in the stomach. BUT then I watch this:

or this:

and feel good about spending my moneys on Fleet Foxes instead. See, I'm poor so I couldn't do both. I believe I made the right choice, though it is hard to take tonight:(
Can't wait until July 22nd!
