woof

This week has been so crazy. I've gotten four hours of sleep every single night. Things have happened that have been emotionally straining. Homework is starting to get the best of me. And other stuff.
Good things: Joe is here. I am going to be up doing my homework late cause cuddling him is more important than homework (good? probably?). Tomorrow is my fake birthday cause I'll be home in Kaysville for my real birthday. Thus birthday dinner tomorrow! Jadyn is making homemade mac&cheese, Ynna is making homemade egg rolls, Joe is making sweet pork, Ally is making pumpkin pie, and Amber is making chocolate lush; oh and Becca is taking me out to breakfast next week. I would advise having your roommates give you food instead of presents, much more fulfilling.
So...I like ending my posts with movies lately cause there's so many good ones out there. so...you should watch this.

and you should also watch this.

i love their concept. lets all grab an instrument, play it as hard as we can, and yell (beautifully) in a microphone:)

wingapo

hello. this day was crazy busy.
what happened (yes i'm going to outline it. deal):
7am to 9am volunteer hours for the career fair
-one hour was spent unloading pallets
-another hour was spend directing employers where to go with a girl who said that she
just LOVES people and thought I was odd because all I really wanted was to be in bed
again.
9am to 10am engineering class
-professor canceled the midterm!!!
-I am South Africa
10am to 11am Shakespeare
-same same
11am to 12am volunteer hours again
-I covered a box in paper
12am to 1pm Kennedy Center Lectures
-oil of middle east this week...meh
-ha funny: watching the professor do the nod-nod-sleep-i'm-awake! during the lecture
1pm to 2pm career fair
-I ran into Sam. He's been teaching in China for a year and it made me unbelievably
happy to see him! He was representing China Horizons in the career fair that's why he
came back to good old byu. Funny story, he told me that romance is strictly forbidden where he was teaching so he promised his class that if they were good he'd show them a picture of
some of his old girlfriends. When he showed them the picture of Keely they were like
"awhhwoaaa! she's so beautiful!" (say in 10year old chinese accents) He then promptly told me never to tell Keely this story haaaaa.
2pm to 3pm unexpected break! whoop
4pm to 7pm sale at work
-sales are the worst
-but I saw the most beautiful man. of course, like all the other guys friends i have right now, he's married. but that's okay. all i really wanted to do was stare at him. so i did. that's not a sin is it? hmmmn. well, I'm over it.
8pm now i'm doing homework. or i will be shortly.

work meeting tomorrow at seven am. will i ever get to sleep this week? nope. of course not.

i like this mooovie.

i fur shurr will have a dance party in a candy shop
p.s. the girl in the yellow shirt is fierce. not sasha fierce, but just fierce.

i'm tiruuurd.

whoop da dee doop

Meh, this week is crazy! I'm exhausted and swamped with homework. Already missed two appointments cause sheer busyness and tiredness. Yes, that does mean that I just woke up from a short nap only to realize that my setting apart with the Bishop was half an hour ago. Whoops. And tomorrow is a lovely straight twelve hour day.
Just have to make it until Thursday night. Then Joe will be here and then it will be Friday with a fake birthday celebration from the roomes. After that, my real bday and general conference at home with the famfam.

listen

I know I blog about music a lot. A lot a lot. But as Ludwig Van Beethoven smartly said, “Music is the one incorporeal entrance into the higher world of knowledge which comprehends mankind but which mankind cannot comprehend.”
Sometimes music is the only thing that seems real. For example, today my roommate had an extremely hard hard thing happen to her. I've never seen her that shaken up and she's been through a lot in her life. We decided that we were going to go for a drive in the mountains to see the lovely fall leaves. I drove, she mandated our music. As soon as we got in the car and music started going an overwhelming sense of peace came over me. I wasn't even the person going through the problem, though I love her to death and thus it had effected me as well, and I felt at peace. This wasn't even church music but you know..feist, ingrid, matt costa etc, so it was suberb music...but still.
Music is great. And if you don't like your music because it has no musical structure at all (aka it's lame radio pop music) or if you do like your music but again it has no musical structure, I have a whole new world of wonderful to introduce to you to. You will wonder how you ever listened to the radio. seriously. good things, good things.

because this just happened

I have to record this so I don't forget. Amber and I were made our delicious Shepard's Pie tonight, be jealous. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Anywhoo we were doing dishes and Amber goes,"You know what I want when I get married, a banana holder."
I go,"A huhnana whata?"
"A banana holder, with a...hook and a...(hand motion), you know."
"Nooope, don't think I've seen one of those."
"Oh, well they're amazing cause bananas go bad fast if they touch anything so this way they don't!"
"Well, now I AM going to get one for your wedding and when you're opening it I'm going to go 'ITSABANANAHOLDER!!!!'"

thus it is recorded.
thus it will happen.

Folding Chair-Regina Spektor

Just read them:

"Come and open up your folding chair next to me
My feet are buried in the sand and there’s a breeze
There’s a shadow, you can’t see my eyes
And the sea is just a wetter version of the skies

Let’s get a silver bullet trailer and have a baby boy
I’ll safety-pin his clothes all cool and you’ll graffiti up his toys
I’ve got a perfect body, though sometimes I forget
I’ve got a perfect body cause my eyelashes catch my sweat
Yes, they do, they do…

Now i’ve been sitting on this abandoned beach for years
Waiting for the salty water to cover up my ears
But every time the tide come in to take me home
I get scared, and I’m sitting here alone
Dreaming of the dolphin song…

Maybe one day you will understand
I don’t want nothing from you but to sweetly hold your hand
Till that day just please don’t be so down
Don’t make frowns, you silly clown

Just come and open up your folding chair next to me
My feet are buried in the sand and there’s a breeze
There’s a shadow, you can’t see my eyes
And the waves are just a frothier version of the skies

There’s a shadow, you can’t see my eyes…"

oh heyyy, i love her.

you should go listen to it now.

SING to me Tommy, SING!

As you can see I'm posting a lot today, well this cause I'm still at home sick. wahoo
"Every man has an atmosphere which is affecting every other. Man cannot escape for one moment from this radiation of his character. This constantly weakening or strengthening of others. He cannot evade the responsibility by saying it is an unconscious influence. He can select the qualities he would permit to be radiated. He can cultivate sweetness, calmness, trust, generosity, truth, justice, loyalty, nobility, and make them vitally active in his character. By these qualities he will constantly affect the world. This radiation to which I refer comes from what a person really is, not from what he pretends to be. Every man by his mere living is radiating sympathy, sorrow, or morbidness, cynicism, or happiness or hope, or any other hundred qualities. Life is a state of radiation and absorption. To exist is to radiate. To exist is to be the recipient of radiation." -David O. McKay

My friend Jon gave this quote in his farewell yesterday. I love it.

compare and contrast

I get on facebook this morning, my top news shows up first. The first status that pops up, "I want to be beautiful to Him."
I switch to my recent news. The first status that pops up from another friend,"I was BORN THIS WAY BITCHES".

Which one exudes more self assurance to you? Which one seems to be over compensating for the lack of self assurance? Which one makes the speaker beautiful? Which one makes the speaker ugly?

Obvious. Interesting. Something to about which to muse.

end of the weekend

the best comforts of going to Kaysville for the weekend:
1-home cooked meals by my beautiful mother.
2-shower heads that are taller than me so i don't have to bend over to get my hair wet.
3-my heated water bed.
that feels like home people.

"yeah, they said it was a lovely time"

mostly about people, things and other things.

you know what is great? honesty. honestly living your life. being honest about how you feel. being honest about how you feel about someone. watching a movie that's honest. hearing a song that's honest. reading a piece of work that's honest. you get the point.
being honest in the world today is letting your self be vulnerable. taking a chance. simplicity. it's the only thing that can make a difference in a world that is so jumbled.
"simple and deep, not complex and shallow."

you know something that's extremely happy-sad? skyping. Ally, Joe, and I skyped for 5 hours today:( Joe serenaded us for at least an hour:) and then we said goodbye:( but hopefully he's coming up to stay with us this weekend:) maybe even for a week:) okay, the verdict has been reached, the smileys have been tallied and this was overly a happy thing that happened. okay, goodnight.

Best Friends...lost...FOREVER!

Ally and I were driving back from the gym tonight all having fun and happy and stuff. We were stopped at a light, when a car with two pretty boys pull up in the turning lane next to us and then ta-da!! they get prettier as they hold up a pizza and stick it out the window for us to get a piece with a ,"Hot and ready, just for you!" The light turns green, Ally pulls up as does the car but the whole pizza starts to come out not just a piece! Still struggling to get a piece, and now in the middle of the intersection, the light turns yellow, uh oh uh oh as cars start to come. The light turns red, and Ally has to let go and speed off straight as the pizza car turns right. and now...we will never see them again! :( they could've and most likely WERE our best eternal buddies forever. No more. Goodbye beautiful pizza through window stoplight guys. We miss you.
