i have to write a six page paper by Tuesday morning so obviously i cleaned, re-arranged and decorated my room, did laundry, ate cake at a friends house, learned a new song on the guitar, brainstormed for birthday dance party themes and now i'm blogging. procrastination is always my destination.
but my room does look real great...

it's the last day of summer.
I went to a Shins concert the night before i went to the ranch. They were on my list of people to see before I die, for good reason. The version they did of New Slang (see below) was one of those life changing moments that I have only felt experiencing live music. It's a time when all in life feels good. The havoc that encases our world is not able to penetrate the safe web that is born when an artist shares a part of their story. The lyrics and melody combine to form this force that becomes a personal conversation between all those in attendance. For a brief moment all in life is good, it's perfect.
That reminds me of a time this summer when I was with a friend and a friend of theirs came by on a long board listening to an ipod. I asked them what they were listening to and my friend said, as if apologizing, "She's obsessed with music." Bewildered, all I could think was, "How can you not be obsessed with music??"
Anyway, I thought that posting this song was a good way to end the season how it begun. Goodbye, best summer of my life. I'm sure there will be many more "best summers" to come, but you made an impression.
Fall, well, you have a lot to live up to.

just feel real happy. and peaceful. and content.
i spent fifteen hours on a sculpture. michelle came to stay. griff had a bro-bot (you know bro and robot) dance party. i danced literally for three straight hours. we had a hick party today. after this summer, i feel real comfortable with that life style. then i played the guitar for an hour or so. then watched heima tonight. and got a letter from ally. and put pictures up on my wall while i listened to lovely musica.
i love sundays. and i love when i don't get sunday night blues.
have a lovely week with low stress levels. enjoy the encroaching fall. something that i am struggling with this year. usually i embrace it with open arms, but this summer was so lovely i'm having a hard time letting go. but little moments make me happy the new season is upon us.

If you're studying or cleaning or just want to hear some great jams by a local talent click the link below! This is my friend Eliza who is so musically talented and hilarious.
I especially recommend Fantasy and The Stalker Song:

Over the summer on the ranch we would just sit on the porch and jam for hours. We also played a few shows for the guests, which featured a couple of her lovely original tunes.

Once upon a time I was sitting in my room when I heard real loud music. I peeked out the window to see crazy lights accompanied by booming emitting from Griff's house down the block. He finally got his new professional grade speakers. Yeahhhh, now I'm kind of excited for my birthday dance party. hollar.

fun fact (s):
i go in the ice cream carton and eat all the good things out of it until all that is left is a gooey messy of vanilla.
i am now a studio arts/art education major. and i love my classes.
i'm not ready for fall yet.
everyone (almost) is home from their missions. it's real weird.
i dated a seventeen year old this summer. totally illegal, except not really cause nothing really happened. what can i say, it was on a ranch. but i was more attached than i realized.
Beyonce makes everything incredible.
Ima going to hike the second highest mountain in Utah next weekend.
There is a cat that lives on my street that comes and cuddles with me if I sit on my porch.
I have three lovely dream catchers in my room. Which room is green. And came with palm tree wallpaper on the inside of the dresser drawers. I'm in love with my house.
People in Provo are on the prowl. In the past week I've had several, several random boys come up and start awkward convos with me.
There are so many people living in Provo. You are never alone...
I brought my fishing pole to school this year.
I'm still no good at bar chords at the guitar.
I have a goal to try at least one new thing a week. Be it double dutch (this past saturday), a visit to a nearby church of another faith, a new menu item off a familiar restaurant, etc
Scratch that last new thing, I am not going out to eat out anymore because it breaks the bank, hello Ramen.
I am working on not holding back when I meet new people.
It's exhausting being social.
J. Tillman's set list from the Fleet Foxes show in Utah a year ago, is hanging on my wall.
Also on my wall is a mounted wicker deer head.
After three years of working in a dungeon full of abandoned computer parts from the seventies, I finally got another job. The pay cut is compensated by actual windows in the workplace.
I don't own heels. I'm considering selling plasma to change this. But I probs won't, I don't really care that much.
Clay dries out your hands.
I love Nupastels.
I'm glad for my family. They're something stellar.
I got un-attached to my phone and the computer this summer. I couldn't see why it used to be such a big deal anymore. Then I came back to school and realized it's such a big deal because everything in life is digital. It was satisfactory to be on a ranch where there was no need for a computer. It was lovely to have real experiences un-encumbered by digital backbone.
I am keeping track of my life experiences right now by writing Ally frequent six page letters to Taiwan.
I grew a centimeter this summer.
I have not blogged in a real long time so these were some updates for ya.
